Types of Planning Application
If you plan to build your own house, you need to submit a planning application. Let's take a look at the process of submitting this application.
The planning application is legally required for you to build your house. It needs to be approved before you are allowed to start building your home.
This planning system has been put in place to ensure that all projects are completed, according to specific requirements. This policy is created by government and local authorities, according to specific guidelines.
There are also different planning applications available and they include:
- Outline Planning Permission
- Reserved Matters
- Full Planning Permission
An Outline Planning Permission indicates that development is generally accepted. A Full Planning Permission means that your entire plan has been approved and will be valid for five years.
Before you submit your application, schedule a meeting with the local planning officer. You can discuss your proposal and they will highlight any possible issues you may have.
You will get an application form to complete and submit. Along with this form you also need to submit an application fee, as well as the proposed site plan. This should be done as soon as possible.
Your application will be assessed and you should receive an answer within a few weeks. Should there be any issues with your application, you will be notified of them and you can resubmit. You will receive your result in a letter and this will include stamped copies.
